Personal Data Protection Board Decision on setting the exemptions to be introduced for enrolment to the Data Controllers Registry.


Through the Article 16/2 of the Law for Personal Data Protection no.6698, as per the Article 16 of Data Controllers Registry Regulation, on the Personal Data Protection Board Decision dated 02.04.2018 and no. K.2018/32 on setting the exemptions to be introduced for enrolment to the Data Controllers Registry.           

Accordingly, data controllers that will be exempted from the requirement of registration to the Data Controllers Registry are set as follows:

  1. Those who process personal data only in non-automated ways, as part of any data recording system,  
  2. Notaries operating under the Notary Law No. 1512 dated 18.01.1972,
  3. Associations, foundations and unions processing personal data solely for their employees, members and donors, only in accordance with the relevant legislation and objectives, limited to their field of activity,
  4. Political parties established in accordance with the Law on Political Parties dated 22.04.1983 and no.2820,
  5. Lawyers working under Attorneys Law No. 1136 dated 19.03.1969,
  6. Independent accountant and financial advisors and sworn-in certified public accountants operating under the Law for Independent Accountant and Financial Advisors and Certified Public Accountants no.3568 dated 01.06.1989.
