In Article 82 of the Social Insurance and General Health Insurance Law, there is a regulation on how to determine the lower and upper limits of the income on which SSI premiums will be paid. Accordingly, the lower limit of the daily earnings based on the calculation of the SSI premium was calculated as one-thirtieth of the minimum wage (daily minimum wage), and the upper limit was calculated as 6.5 times the lower limit of the daily earnings. With Article 8 of the Law No. 6761, the phrase "6.5" in the above-mentioned provision of the Social Insurance and General Health Insurance Law has been changed to "7.5", effective as of January 1, 2017. Accordingly, the upper limit of the earnings subject to SSI premium (SSI cap) is calculated as 7.5 times the minimum wage amount valid in the relevant period as of January 1, 2017.
